Once registered with a specific tutor, you will receive additional contact details for that tutor.

2. Student Details:

Contact details for learners are to be kept up to date and it is important that prompt notice is given of any changes. Details included on registration forms include: name of learner & Parent/Carer (if 18 or under), date of birth, school year group (where applicable), phone number, email address, school/college attended, tutoring & learning request, known medical conditions, allergies etc, interests & hobbies and any additional information relating to tutoring .

3. General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR):

As per the Data Protection Act (1998), all information given will be kept secure and will only be used by Isle Tutor. Information is stored as paper copies, with names, phone numbers and email addresses also being stored electronically. This information will not be shared with any third parties unless your permission is given or there is a legal requirement to do so.

Parents/Carers and adult learners have the right to view any information held. To exercise this right, please make a private appointment.

You have the right to ask for information to be deleted, however this would also bring termination the Tutoring & Learning Agreement.

Information is usually held on file for two years, after which time paper copies will be shredded and computer files deleted permanently.

4. Fees & Payment:

Payment for tuition must be made by bank transfer, cheque or in cash on the day. If paying by invoice this should be paid within seven days of invoice being given.

As of 1st April 2024, until further notice, the fees are as follows:

• Homework Club 1 hour - £4 per student                

• Private Tutor - 1 hour - £30

• 45 minutes - £25             

• 30 minutes - £20

All payments are recorded and declared on a yearly tax return.

5. Cancellation of Lessons:

In the event of Isle Tutor cancelling tuition, as much notice will be given as is possible. Tuition will be rearranged if mutually convenient, otherwise no charge will be made.

In the event of Parent/Carer/Learner cancelling, tuition will be rearranged within the same week if mutually convenient.  If less than 24 hours’ notice is given for cancellation and not rearranged within that week the fee is still payable.

Isle Tutor reserve the right to terminate tuition if lessons have been cancelled with little or no notice, or on a frequent basis and to offer the tuition to a learner on the waiting list.

6. Termination of Tuition:

No notice is required for attendance to homework club.

2 weeks’ notice is required for Private tuition, this ensures that the tutor, parent/carer and learner are all informed about what is happening in advance and the period of tuition is brought to an appropriate close.

7. Learner Progress:

Verbal Feedback can be given briefly at the end of each lesson, any additional feedback can be given by text or email if requested.

Every tutor at Isle Tutor aims to make a difference to every learner they tutor, however, this cannot be guaranteed and therefore the tutor cannot be held accountable for lack of progress.

In the event that the tutor considers that sufficient difference is not being made with a specific learner, then appropriate contact will be made to discuss this and endeavour to identify alternative ways forward.

8. Damages & Losses:

Resources are provided for use within the tutor rooms and on occasion for home learning. Occasionally accidental damage does occur but if resources are damaged through misbehaviour or lost between lessons, Isle Tutor reserve the right to invoice the cost of replacing the resource.

9. Pick up arrangements from Homework Club:

Parents / carers are responsible for pick up arrangements. Parents / Carers must indicate on the registration form whether student is to be collected or if the student is allowed to walk home.

Any late pick up from Homework Club will be charged at £2.00 for every 5 mins late.

 

10. Tutoring & Learning Agreement:
